NATURAL PARKS
Khasan Natural Park
South Primorye Natural Park
Vladivostok Natural Park
Natural parks are nature protection recreational
institutions managed by the administration of Primorye. Their territories
(water areas) include natural complexes and facilities with significant
ecological and esthetic value and are designed for nature protection, educational
and recreational purposes.
At present, there is only one natural
park on the territory of Primorye. At the same time, in conformity with
the recommendations of the Long-Term Program for Nature Protection and
Rational Use of the Natural Resources of Primorye till the year 2005, appropriate
ecological and economical substantiation for two more natural parks, the
South Primorye and Vladivostok parks, have been provided and are currently
in the stage of endorsement.
Researchers of the Institute of Marine
Biology, Far East Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences, have developed an
ecological and economical substantiation for a Marine natural park that
would include the Empress Eugenia archipelago, the island of Askold and
adjacent waters.
