The cities of Primorsky region perform the functions of industrial, transport, cultural, and administrative centers. Vladivostok is the capital of the city, Ussuriysk, and Nakhodka are multifunctional cities, the rest are mono-cities specializing in engineering, mining, woodworking, and house-construction.
The cities are historical marks of Russian civilization in the Far East. As many as 2000 different monuments and memorials, historical buildings, streets and squares named after prominent events and people can tell a lot about the glorious and tragic history of this remote part of Russia.
